This is the gold standard of care test that should be done to best diagnose and treat a bacterial ear infection (bacterial culture identification). Unfortunately, it is often not recommended by the veterinarian because it would cost you over $200 at many animal hospitals and the results take several days. Having these test results ready during the exam will help the veterinarian diagnose the cause of your dog's symptoms.

We share the test results directly with your veterinarian, so if the test is positive, they will know exactly which targeted antibiotic to prescribe. This is critical for antibiotic stewardship.
